Vigil Monday Night Monday November 3 - 6:00 pm GEO for-profit immigrant detention center 3130 Oakland Street
Regis students host Dia De Los Muertos Vigil at the GEO Immigrant Detention Center to protest record deaths in custody along the border and remember people who lost their lives trying to emigrate. The Center for Service learning and Engaged Scholar Activists organizes this event every year out of a deep dedication and care for the issue. "As students, we want to use the limited power and resources we have available to support an initiative that deeply impacts many of us. This semester's theme, 'Day of the Dead,' is an homage to the holiday that brings families back together with their loved ones. May those who have lost their lives due to the issues of migration be present with us tonight." states Ashley Garcia Torres, Engaged Scholar Activist at Regis University. If you are able to bring a picture or a flower that would be lovely. We will have silk screening (printing onto shirts) available onsite (for a small fee you can take a shirt home).
